120 Q Street

A property in the Bernstein Management portfolio, 120 Q Street is a newly upgraded office building located in the NoMa neighborhood of Northeast Washington, DC.   As a company committed to sustainable changes with its Green Living Initiative, Bernstein Management has utilized solar power as a valuable tool to perpetuate the company’s goals.  Aurora Energy’ design, utilizing SunPower X-series commercial modules in a three-array rooftop PV  layout, maximized available rooftop space on the structure.

The resulting array 78.48 kW system generates just under 100 MWh of electricity annually, and will prevent over 1,700 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere throughout the life of the system.  BMC was able to take advantage of a number of different incentives, including the 30% federal tax credit and the DC solar renewable energy credits.
