Commercial Solar Sales at Aurora Energy

We are looking for an experienced sales professional, ideally with a solar background. We offer competitive base compensation and a very attractive commission structure that can lead motivated candidates to make above $100,000 dollars per year and receive competitive per watt commissions.  We offer 401k, paid vacation and sick days and health insurance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating new customer leads through targeted outreach and responding to solar RFPs
  • Working with our design, engineering and project management staff to accurately design and cost commercial PV systems
  • Developing and presenting proposals to clients
  • Developing relationships with clients, addressing their concerns, and negotiating contracts
  • Representing Aurora Energy at networking and industry events
  • Improving sales team performance through developing new strategies and processes   


  • The ability to deliver high value solar sales
  • 1-3+ years of proven sales experience, ideally in the commercial solar development   
  • Knowledge of the solar industry including: basics of system design and construction, product knowledge, regulatory requirements in the D.C. Metro Area and financial incentives
  • Technical aptitude and experience with such tools as Helioscope, Energy Tool Base, Zoho CRM, and Google Earth as well as strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Drafting or modeling program experience (CAD, Google Sketchup) a plus 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong networking ability and the ability to constantly expand your customer base
  • Excellent strategic thinking and the desire to contribute to the expansion of a fast-growing company
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal and drug screening
