Farm Ground Mount - Ellicott City, MD
Owned and operated by the Cunningham family, Mary’s Land is an all-organic farm with the goal of going beyond organic principles, achieving a balanced ecosystem on their 160 acres with perennial plants. They also strive to self-contain water within their property with swales and berms, decreasing run-off that could pick up impurities and enter the waterways.
Generating over 270 MWh annually the farm’s operations, including their on-site farm store, will be running off of 100% sunshine power. With a payback period of 4 years and a goal of using a minimal amount of fossil fuels in their operations, coupled with the ability to take advantage of incentives like the federal tax credit, REAP Grant and MEA’s Commercial Clean Energy Grant Program going solar was a natural choice; for the Cunninghams, you could say it was an organic process.
